10 things on my list…

Yes I’m a nerd!!!

Somethings I’ve learned about trying new things.

1. New things are always uncomfortable at first.

2. Not everyone will be for you and that’s okay.

3. You will make LOTS of mistakes.

4. If you really want it you will find a way to accomplish it.

5. With all the information readily available to each of us there are no excuses for not being able to tackle that project you’ve been putting off.

6. Acknowledge your supporters and block the haters.

7. When you fall on your face, and trust me you will, get back up and try again.

8. Smile big and laugh hard.

9. Nothing last forever not the good times not the bad, so just take it all in for this too shall pass.

10. Realize this is your life! At the end of it do you really want the regret of have lived it according to someone else?

Just a few things I’ve learned along the way of trying new things. Have a great rest of your day my friends.

Isaiah 43:19 “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

In this troubling time of the world right now it makes one question pretty much everything. Going back to our great country’s constitution the words Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness called out to me. There isn’t a doubt my beliefs are very conservative that being said I tend to look at all the information then I see where the facts point before I form my own opinion instead of jumping on a bandwagon. I think if people would stop and realize we need certain freedoms to actually pursue our own definition of happiness. I fear as Americans we are so spoiled that we don’t even treasure what we have until it is taken away. Nope that’s not right we are throwing it away by giving the government to much power in my opinion. I look around and see the hard left opposition to nearly everything I stand for and think it will be all RIGHT if I stand firm and do NOT waiver on my stance on certain issues. I am unwilling to sit back and let other people’s philosophy change everything I have worked to attain or hope to attain in future endeavors. That being said I don’t ever want to push my own agenda on anyone else for I want them to exercise their rights as well. I hope I have planted a seed in your mind today. How you nurture it and make it bloom is completely up to you my friends. Have a great rest of your day.

New Chapters

I used to be quite content stuck in the day to day rut of my own self induced rituals. Now I’m more willing to go out on a limb and try something different. This blog for example once seemed intimidating now is a breeze.

When I first thought about writing novels I definitely had it in me but second guessed who would even want to read something I wrote. Therefore my first book a young adult selection is sitting on a hard drive just waiting for me to let people discover it. Meanwhile my latest creation has come to life. It’s a contemporary romance that I have allowed my friends to read and I’m happy to have them hooked and waiting for the release of it to read the rest. The difference here was that I was confident enough in my writing and ability to create interesting characters that would intrigue my audience. I know without a shadow of a doubt it’s great and I will not stop until it’s available to my friends that have continued to support me in my latest endeavor.

That being said I tend to start several projects at once and I get sidetracked. Knowing this about myself I am not going down that rabbit hole on this venture but I am thinking about the next project once this book is completed. I am a blogger, check. I am an author, check. (Side note I will soon be published author) <insert drumroll > I think I want to venture into the world of podcasting. Will anyone want to listen to who I want to interview? Maybe, maybe not, but that’s not my focus. What other people think of me isn’t my business it’s following my own destiny and living true that. While some people are probably rolling their eyes reading this others can’t wait thinking I wonder what crazy topics she will approach on a podcast. Who knows!

All I can say is with the extra time off is that if I haven’t started something new it wasn’t time I lacked it was desire and that would be a shame. What about you? Is there something you have put off due to time restrictions? Most of us now have unlimited time on or hands so let’s take hold of the opportunity and go for it. Have a great rest of your day!!!

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.“ Isaiah 43:18-19

Life From My Bubble

Anyone that knows me would classify me as a creature of habit. I function well in my own routine. This whole covid 19 has escalated normalcy to a whole new level for the world pretty much. Distance learning has been different but doable, staff meetings via zoom is starting to feel better and the day to day activities has morphed into routine I think. I have socially distanced for the past several years so I’m great here in my bubble. April 25th when Baylee called me and says “Mom don’t panic….. Jacey’s okay but I just called 911 she had a bad seizure.” BUT I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO PANICK OR GET THERE AS FAST AS I CAN? The ER can see a patient but no one else can go in. This isn’t her first episode like this however it was the first one that someone was there to witness it. Thank GOD her dad was there to see what exactly happened and to get help. She did pass out for about 5 minutes and that helped us to better understand what went on when she has her car wreck in 2018. Does it make it less worrisome heck no! The uncertainty of what triggers this, when the next big one will hit, Will my life ever be normal, just a few questions a helpless parent can’t begin to answer. This medical issue is life changing for it takes your freedom away in so many ways. As a mother I have always tried to instill independence in my girls but now Jacey is told to depend on everyone and that has to be frustrating. Silver linings 1-she is ok 2-she has a great support system 3-with the timing of things shutting down we aren’t pressed to be places.

So even though my bubble I live in is the same, a lot has changed. Learning to navigate in it without it popping may seems tricky at times but it will all be okay. As I have discovered change isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it does take me an adjustment period.

I hope you all are finding your new normal and have a great rest of your day!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Freedoms Come With A Price

As a PROUD AMERICAN I value my freedoms. During this whole pandemic I’m looking around thinking we have lost our minds. We have panicked so much and are giving up our liberties on so many fronts. We really need to wake up and realize our freedoms that sometimes taken for granted are on the lines. Don’t get me wrong I am all for being cautious but I see the daily news where farmers are having to pour out milk yet having to do the same amount of work. Millions of chickens are having to be killed without utilizing the meat. Vegetables are not being able to be harvested just tilled back in the earth. Cattle ranchers are watching helplessly as beef skyrockets yet the price at the auctions continue to plunge lower, and to add insult to injury they are being asked to look at culling the herd. Wait this is the most infuriating part, the United Stares is still going ahead an importing beef! If this doesn’t concern you then you have bought into the hype and really need to pay closer attention. The stimulus bill is great for the needy but liberals pushing to go more green faster literally makes me sick. The one that really kills me is the 25 Million bucks to the Kennedy Center while people can’t pay their utilities come on people wake up.

As I close this rant I do want to give a shout out to people that are putting their own lives on the line. The medical profession is top notch for grinding it out daily to save lives. The people that don’t get shout outs that have had to go to work as if nothing had changed and nobody even noticed I salute you as well.

My point for this blog is don’t just take people’s word as the truth or gospel. Do your own fact checking and don’t be so quick to jump in the bandwagon.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1

Priorities vs. Options

We all have the ability to determine our priorities as well as our options. Responsible people use this principle in life needs vs. wants right? Although I love a campfire and scented candles I prefer not to have to count on them for my daily cooking and being able to see in the dark, I like the modern convenience of flipping a switch for light so I pay my electric bill.

It’s all a matter of personal preference I suppose. I guess some people are fine with being in a category of options, but as for me, I’ll value being prioritized. But remember you have to give as well as receive so just know who treats you this way and simply reciprocate. That’s all I have to say about this. Have a great rest of your day.

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Like 12:34

Counterfeit

So the other night social distancing outside in front of a fire the discussion turned to horses and my attention zoned in. I said that doesn’t count because he was a counterfeit son of a gun! The guy looked at me like I had lost my mind! He repeated my words like I was going to retract my words. I said yep you heard me correct, do you want clarification? He said how can a horse be counterfeit, and I could tell he was paying attention to see what explanation would follow. I carefully explained when a horse gains your trust and you feel totally at ease with it and the next minute 💥 BAM 💥 your being tossed on your butt because it came out of nowhere there ya go! Now if your the CEO of a company and you go in a board meeting and you think a person is totally on your side and out of nowhere they are suddenly against you 💥 BAM 💥 counterfeit coworker. If you’re on a date with someone and you think that person (male or female it goes both ways) is of a certain character then they turn out to be totally different 💥 BAM 💥 counterfeit person. It can be used synonymously in which ever context applies.

💯 percent the real deal.. NOT COUNTERFEIT

Now don’t get me wrong there is a huge difference in having a bad day where we are a little of our game and that’s a different ball game. The point I was trying to articulate was when something is not as it seems and you can feel it in your gut run fast the get out of that situation. That’s all I have on this subject, Hope you guys are al okay with the social distancing, have a great rest of your day.

“Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.” Hebrew 13:9

Happy Easter!!

In these times if uncertainty it’s easy to let our minds wonder to the what if’s. What if I get the deadly virus, what if the world as we knew it never returns, what will happen to mankind, and so forth. When we go out it looks like a scene out of a horrific movie, gloves and masks on each person! Daily updates are enough to scare the daylight out of it but we can’t buy into the hype. This is a time to focus on the truth, we have had bad times before and there will certainly be bad times again but we have to stand firm knowing that things will be normal again. Will they be back 💯 percent to the way it was months ago? I can’t say. I never would have dreamed I’d be teach distant learning but that is happening as I am writing this blog post. I know it did rock my world for a minute and I bought into the hype I’m not going to lie. I had to turn off the daily reports and seek peace because it was driving me crazy, the isolation. Make no mistake I do love being home, I just don’t like being told I HAVE to stay home. So dat after day week after week I ventured out to just catch my breath.

As some of us find ourselves in crowds, my soul is set free in the wide open spaces. All was made right in a few hours and peace restored once again. So don’t be so overwhelmed by what’s happening instead use the time you normally wouldn’t have to improve what you have. You have the world at your fingertips literally! You want to learn something new google it. I know from personal experience there is so many things around here I just haven’t had the time or energy to focus on, and now I can devote my energy on that instead of buying into the hype that the world is over ! I hope this helps ease your anxiety a bit! Have a great rest of your day my friends!

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

It’s A whole different world

In these uncertain times each of us has our own thoughts and ideas on how to navigate forward. I have decided to stay away from as many people as possible. Now that doesn’t mean I’ve locked myself away and am glued to the news. Honestly that could drive any person insane I tell ya. Instead I’m focusing on my current book making progress that I’ve shared with trusted friends. I’m humbled and pleased that people not only read it but are excited for more! Since writing is so sedentary I e been making myself move more. Taking my dog for his daily walks is nice too! I think the key to not going crazy is for us to appreciate this time away and not to worry. Having a clear goal with a foreseeable outcome is my way of coping. Just thought I’d share my way of thinking and I hope it encourages each of you to find something to strive for in the coming weeks.

My friends may not agree with me but they respect my decision basically to stay away from folks. It is flattering to still get invited out there, and I’ve been sending them silly pictures so they know I’m alive and well.

Y’all have a great rest of your day, washing your hands and get moving even if it’s walking around your house!

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10

Life according to our Phones

I think sometimes our daily life can be compared to our phones that we are intertwined with. For example sometimes when life dials in on me and I’m not ready I might hit decline. Then other times I barely hear the ring and I’m on it before the next. What about the worse thing ever you are right at an amazing conversation and the call gets dropped! Yes I hate to admit the next one but occasionally I see an incoming call but I’m super busy and I just let it go for a bit until I can focus in on the caller. It’s pretty surreal the same things in life can be compared to the box we are so connected to these days right? I think it’s okay as long as we determine the importance of each. What we refer to as our lifeline aka the phone verses our true life. Don’t get so caught up in the phone we ignore our real life! I’m saying this while I’m blogging this message on yes you guessed it MY PHONE! That’s all I have for ya today, have a great rest of your day. PS…Stay home and avoid unnecessary germs people the world is better when we are healthy!

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”
